I’m fine, please don’t worry, really,
It’s just who I am, naturally,
Sadness is a mask worn just so,
This bitter scowl is just for show,
It’s nothing at all, it’s silly,
All things will pass eventually,
I’m just tired if you need to know,
So let it be, just let me go.
Be strong and time will heal the wounds, pain and scars.
Hugs and love…

That’s extremely kind of you to say. Some scars are better left unhealed, though, no? Otherwise we would go off and continue to make mistakes.

Absolutely….all situational dependent. Wisdom and grace reveals the direction to us. May the light of God be a lamp unto your feet and direct your paths. Love and hugs…

I resonate with this. You capture it all especially in these few lines:
“It’s just who I am, naturally,
Sadness is a mask worn just so,
This bitter scowl is just for show,
It’s nothing at all, it’s silly…”
I often wonder what is the mask and what is my face; and if the mask is who I am or if I just changed that way? This poem makes me reflect on those thoughts and feelings. Beautifully written and introspective. I love how raw and honest this is as well. All things do pass eventually and I think a lot of us cling onto that. ❤ You capture all of this very well, especially when others can intrude on what we feel and not let it go. I felt that.
To make a long story short, I loved this piece and its evocations.

Thank you so much for the kind reflection! It is comforting to know that my efforts to capture a certain feeling or mood turned out successful.
I appreciate your comment which has truly made my day. Thank you again.
