True Necromancy,
Is the greatest skill I teach,
For dead speak softly,
And were it not for these books,
Their wisdom be lost to us.
I think my students,
Would think these lessons worthy,
If only they knew,
Our daily poetry books,
Were really something magic.
Wow – what a great take on necromancy! I’d never thought of it like that before. I hope your students appreciate it.

Why thank you! My students definitely don’t care, but that’s their problem at the end of the day. The fact that we work miracles by reading and engaging with literature may be lost upon them, but it’s certainly not lost by me!

Eventually some will care. It can just take them a while. I tried to track down my high school literature teacher a few years ago to thank him, but couldn’t find a way.

As always, you are much too kind. Thank you for your words, but you think too highly of me – my depth is very much only skin deep.
