To Stop Healing

I wake having forgotten your name,
Like a long-lost place, a dream’s remains,
The pain evaporates, but leaves hollow space,
In my mind – the disgrace of betrayal,
The ache of love turned to hate,
The horror I feel, as memory fades,
Holding on tight, to delay the decay
Of the lingering pain of that day,
Like a flower pressed between the pages,
A recollection – saved to be thrown away.
